New Math Foundations Courses – Fall 2020

Math Foundations Courses Denver Test Prep (DTP) is proud to announce the launch of our new Math Foundations courses! These 13-week small group courses are designed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts typically covered in first semester math classes. Pay What You Can SAT/ACT Class

In light of our current reality, Denver Test Prep is offering an online SAT/ACT class to any student who qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch (or has a need-based scholarship). These next couple of months will be a great time for motivated students to work on increasing their SAT and/or ACT scores, thereby improving their odds of college acceptance and merit scholarships. This course will run on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00pm MST from April 30th through June 4th (with an additional class on June 11th for any students taking the ACT). Free Science Nights at DTP

We are excited to announce that this spring Denver Test Prep will be holding free Science Nights! As part of the launch of our new Enrichment Programs, Science Nights are open to DTP students, friends, and family at no cost. Feel free to stop by for a few minutes, or stay for the whole time. Holiday Chemistry STEM Workshop This holiday season, Denver Test Prep is offering at-home science learning and discovery with our 2-hour STEM Workshop: Holiday Chemistry. Comparing SAT and ACT Scores

When it comes to the admissions process, colleges will typically accept scores for either the ACT or the SAT. Because most schools are neutral on the scores they accept, students can choose to take the test on which they exhibit a stronger performance. It is recommended that students take a practice test for both the SAT and ACT to see which exam they are stronger on. SAT Score Chart

How is the SAT Scored? A student’s total score on the SAT is the sum of scores achieved on the two sections of the exam. Section scores are derived from a student’s raw score, which is calculated by the number of questions answered correctly. The raw scores are then converted to scaled scores. This conversion process is used to adjust for differences in difficulty across all SAT exams. Scaled scores for both the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section and the Math section range from 200-800. Therefore, the student’s final score will be between 400-1600.
