JOB SUMMARY
Denver Test Prep (DTP) is looking for a dynamic, experienced educator to manage our nonprofit partnerships and oversee test prep training programs. As Manager of Nonprofit Programs and Training, you’ll play a key role on a small, high-performing team at a locally owned company that’s expanding its reach and impact across Colorado.
In this role, you’ll drive the success of our nonprofit programs—managing existing partnerships, building new ones, designing curriculum, tracking student outcomes, and reporting on program results. You’ll also serve as the lead instructor for a significant number of nonprofit programs, which currently focus on ACT/SAT prep for groups of 3–20 students.
This position requires the ability to personally teach ACT/SAT content at a high level. Beyond instruction, you’ll lead the design and delivery of our internal training program for test prep tutors and manage our library of test prep resources.

WORK HOURS EXPECTATIONS AND SCHEDULE
Candidates should be ready to work 50–60 hours per week during the school year for the next three years to fast-track their career growth and earnings. This is a director-track position with the expectation of promotion and total compensation of $100–125K+ within three years.
While the schedule is flexible, most tutoring will take place on weekday evenings (2–9pm) and weekends. The Manager will work 5–6 consistent tutoring days during the school year and 3–4 during the summer. Meetings and administrative work can largely be done remotely. The role includes unlimited vacation, with an expectation of 4–6 weeks off annually, including school holidays.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel throughout the Denver metro area, with occasional trips to Boulder.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Graduate of a 4-year college or university. Major in a STEM field and/or graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 for STEM major or 3.3 for liberal arts major in most recent degree completed.
- 2+ years of program and/or project management experience required.
- 2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience required.
- 1+ years of classroom or other group instruction experience required.
- Ability to tutor middle school and high school math (including algebra 1, algebra 2, and geometry) required.
- Strong writing skills and ability to support middle school and high school writers required.
- Ability to achieve a top 2% score on the ACT and SAT (measured by an official practice test later in the interview process).
- Strong track record of clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional relationship building skills, with the ability to form and maintain meaningful connections with DTP clients and non-profit partners.
- Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks independently and within a team setting.

Manager of Test Prep and Training

While the position offers significant schedule flexibility, the Manager of Test Prep and Training will do the majority of their tutoring 2-9pm weekdays plus weekends. The Manager of Test Prep and Training will identify 5-6 regular tutoring days during the school year and 3-4 regular tutoring days during the summer. Most meetings and admin work can be done remotely. The role includes unlimited vacation time with the expectation that the team member will take roughly 4-6 weeks off including vacations and school holidays.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to locations throughout the Denver metro area, and occasionally the Boulder metro area.

REQUIRED COURSE CONTENT KNOWLEDGE

As a Senior Instructor with Denver Test Prep, you’ll play a key role in helping students achieve life-changing growth — both in their academic coursework and on standardized tests. Our tutors work 1-on-1 with motivated students, providing highly customized instruction that supports strong academic skills, boosts confidence, and helps students reach their long-term educational goals.
You’ll spend most of your time meeting students in person (homes, offices, libraries), teaching strategy-driven content, tracking student progress, and communicating clearly with families and our team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop customized lesson plans and adjust instruction based on student progress and needs.
- Maintain excellent communication with families and Denver Test Prep leadership, providing regular updates on student progress and session outcomes.

Orton-Gillingham Reading Interventionist
Denver Test Prep is currently hiring a part-time reading interventionist to assist our students who have been diagnosed with dyslexia and other reading-related learning differences. Tutoring sessions are typically held in the homes of our students or at our office in the Denver Tech Center.
The starting rate of pay is $50/hour of tutoring plus $20/hour for drive time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of 4-year college or university
- Trained in Orton-Gillingham (OG)
- Minimum one year of utilizing OG methods in a classroom, small group, or one-on-one setting
- Has experience with the remediation of dyslexia
- No criminal history
- Reliable car to get to tutoring sessions not located near public transit
