A data-driven approach to reading intervention.

DTP’s reading assessment service provides a comprehensive evaluation of foundational and grade-level reading skills through the administration and analysis of several diagnostic skills-based assessments. Should intervention be needed, the results from our analysis allow our reading specialists to pinpoint what foundational reading skills need to be taught or reviewed within the developmental sequence of the structured literacy approach that tutor is taking (i.e. Wilson, Orton Gillingham, Lindamood Bell, Take Flight to name a few).

The initial reading assessment provides families with info on the following:

  • Present levels of performance in the crucial domains of foundational reading skills: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Individual strengths and areas that may benefit from additional focus.
  • Recommendations for frequency and scope of any potential intervention.
